My Plea:
I’m Claire Groves, a Funeral Director in Weston-super-Mare.
I’ve been nominated for a Butterfly Award by a wonderful couple, Tom and Natasha who I helped after they sadly lost their baby girl Evelyn Grace earlier this year.
Please vote for me to win the award of Support Worker in order that I can honour Tom and Natasha’s selfless act of recognition that they chose to acknowledge at one of the most tragic times of their lives.
I’d love to win this award for both the two of them, their precious Evelyn Grace and their beautiful family x
What Others Have Said
I want to nominate our funeral director Claire at Groves Funeral directors. From the moment we spoke to Claire about the loss of our daughter she knew exactly what to do and say. Claire was flexible and went out of her way to meet everything we needed. Claire was compassionate and supportive and nothing was too much trouble. Claire made sure the little details were taken care of. For example Claire picked up on a butterfly theme we had adopted for our fundraising and placed a single white butterfly broach on every order of service, we also requested no flowers so instead Claire places beautiful silk butterflies on Evelyn’s coffin. Claire was on call day and night if we needed her. Just a week after the funeral Claire delivered a beautiful handmade personalised wooden memory box, which is a service they now offer bereaved parents. It was so special and meant we could transfer Evelyn’s memories from the standard memory box issued at the hospital into her own keepsake. Claire really did go above and beyond and I feel like I have developed a friend in Claire.

Claire and Nigel organised my mum’s funeral. She passed away unexpectedly while i was on holiday. My brother lives overseas and it all happened around Christmas time. It had potential to be a logistical nightmare but it wasn’t because these two caring, lovely people were on hand. I simply cannot express how amazing these two people are. They are helpful, supportive, caring and compassionate. They are simply two of the most genuine and caring people I’ve ever met. I have recommended them to others going through a bereavement with absolutely no hesitation and Claire and Nigel have exceeded all expectations.

At the hardest and most distressing period of my life Claire was there. Walking the hard road besides me, always there. I am deeply grateful to her for her loving support.
We can’t thank Claire and Nigel enough for their level of care and compassion when Evelyn Grace was still born this year. No family can ever think about processing the loss of a child at any stage or age and Claire made sure everything was taken care of. Tom and I will forever be grateful to you and your team.
Claire, Nigel and their team will go above and beyond to help the grieving relatives, they are compassionate and very emphatic. Amazing Couple ❤️❤️
Both Nigel and Claire are incredibly kind, caring, compassionate, professional people who understand everything that each of us is going through, absolutely nothing was too much trouble for these lovely, genuine people and nobody could ever deserve this award more. Neither myself nor my family will forget what they did for us in our darkest hours of need.
